On Main Street, string lights illuminate the downtown and the neon lights of the historic Art Deco Grand Theatre are aglow! There you can enjoy first-run digital movies year-round, in addition to music concerts and live theater. The parks in front of the theatre on Main Street are the location for events throughout the year. You can further immerse yourself in art at the beautifully restored Carnegie Center, where you can view exhibits or create your own works of art. The historic district is filled with eclectic architectural styles, materials, and ornamentation not seen elsewhere thanks to its diverse settlers. Locally owned shops will treat you to southern hospitality and eateries will delight you with delicious regional and international cuisine. Walk the town’s brick streets as you shop and sightsee, enjoy the murals or embark on an architectural tour. You are likely to see wild chickens along the way.
