If you type in “Garlic Capitol of the World” into Google, this is what you will come up with;Gilroy, and its surrounding area have a lot of small foothills, and during this time of the year; February/March, the hills are full & lush with green grass, it’s gorgeous! The people are friendly, and there is so much to do, from Golfing, biking, visiting all the fruit stand in the area, and everything you can buy made with Garlic, like Garlic Ice Cream, shopping in the Premium Outlet Malls, Wine Tasting, Gilroy Gardens Family Park (open only March-Dec) & not to mention of famous Gilroy Garlic Festival, this year it’s held on July 28 – 30, 2017.

Nearby is the small town of San Juan Bautista. It’s full of History, & it’s home to one of the California Missions; of the same name. The chickens run wild in this little town, and there are several small shops, bakeries, restaurants/cafes, & Antique stores.
Gilroy is within an hours drive to the coastal Cities of Monterey & Santa Cruz, and it’s just south of San Jose. So, you see you will not be without a lot of choices to see & do, or drive to.
