12 Festivals in 2017

As you plan your new year, here are some fun gatherings and festivals (along with great places to stay) to consider in 2017. No matter where your year takes you, be sure to use Mobile RVing’s trip planner to find Mobile RVing preferred properties along the way!

JANUARY
Quartzsite, Arizona hosts an annual rock show (think gems and minerals, not music) as well as an RV show each year during January. You’ll be close to town at Mountain Quail RV & Mobile Home Park, The Scenic Road RV Park, or Park Place RV Park.

FEBRUARY
Mardi Gras is on February 28 this year. New Orleans, Louisiana’s party scene may not inspire immediate thoughts of RVing, but there are plenty of campground options close to the action. One such choice is French Quarter RV Resort.

MARCH
Each year, some of the nation’s best canine athletes flock to Perry, Georgia with their human handlers to strut their stuff over jumps, through tunnels, and across A-frames at the AKC National Agility Championship. It is held at the Georgia National Fairground from March 24-26.

APRIL
April’s month-long tulip festival is a driving tour through blooming fields in the Skagit Valley of Washington. The festival’s website suggests staying at the Burlington/Anacortes KOA.

MAY
Catch the Beer, Bourbon, and BBQ Festival in Charlotte, North Carolina from the comfort of the Charlotte/Fort Mill KOA on May 13. If you can’t make it to North Carolina, you could try to enjoy a different stop on the Beer, Bourbon and BBQ tour in Knoxville, Tennessee on May 20. Stay at Volunteer Park Family Campground.

JUNE
June 2-4 is Brattleboro, Vermont’s annual Strolling of the Heifers. It is a cow parade sponsored by an organization that supports the local foods movement. Make Crown Point Camping Area your base camp.

JULY
Taste of Chicago bills itself as the “nation’s premier outdoor food festival” and it is definitely a delicious idea to stop by Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois from July 5-9. Stay at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park.

AUGUST
Casper, Wyoming is in the ideal viewing path of the first full solar eclipse in 38 years. Eclipse Fest will feature a week of happenings leading up to the celestial event on August 21. Hotels in the city are already booked during the event, so you will want to check availability at Casper East RV Park as soon as possible.

SEPTEMBER
The 2017 Alaska State Fair starts at the end of August in Palmer, Alaska and runs until September 4. Enjoy a traditional state fair with concerts, horse shows, and plenty of food while staying at Big Bear Campground & RV Park.

OCTOBER
The Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta will be held in Albuquerque, New Mexico October 7-15. This annual event is beloved by RVers. If you don’t have a spot reserved at Balloon View RV Park, try looking for workcamping opportunities instead.

NOVEMBER
Denver, Colorado is home to the Denver International Wine Festival from November 1-3. Be sure to catch an Uber back to Dakota Ridge RV Park after enjoying wine all day!

DECEMBER
Enjoy an Old Time Christmas throughout all of December in Branson, Missouri while staying at Turkey Creek RV Village, a Mobile RVing preferred property that is open year-round!
